Event Planning and Execution
Event Planning and Execution
I have successfully planned and executed events for the hospital from large gatherings of 200 plus, small intimate cocktail parties and detailed cultivation events. From the onset of my tenure with the foundation, I have played an instrumental role in the planning and execution of all signature Mahoning Valley events, including Clubs for Kids, the Miracles and Promises Radiothon, Holiday Hopes & Wishes, the American Girl Fashion Show, Breakfast with Santa and the 10th Anniversary Gala.
Details of events I was lead on are outlined below.
Rock for Kids
Held in 2014, 2015 and 2016, this day long music festival featured nine bands on two stages to raise money for the hospital. I secured the bands, security and sound/production, coordinated volunteer and entertainer schedules and oversaw social media marketing. In 2020, I reimagined and executed this event as a virtual festival, featuring four bands over four weekends. I broadcasted each of these shows via Facebook live.
Children's Circle of Friends
From 2014 until 2018, I coordinated these intimate events four times per year. Spring, summer and fall garden parties were "hosted" by donors to share the hospital's mission with their associates and friends either in their homes or at a chosen location. In the winter, we held a holiday gathering.
Champions for Our Valley's Children
This event was held to celebrate our success in the Mahoning Valley and recognize those who made it possible. Each year featured a Champion, who was recognized for their outstanding generosity and support. Additionally, Children's Advocate Award honorees were recognized for their spirit of caring and their work to make a difference in the lives of the children in the communities we serve. Typically held at the Lake Club, we would host between 150 and 250 guests. Working closely with my foundation colleagues, I was responsible for many aspects of this event from 2016 until 2019. In 2021, we held this event virtually.
Children's Up Close
The Children's Up Close experience provides a personal, inside view of the rewards and challenges of working in a pediatric hospital. It opens lines of communication between our medical staff and select community representatives and expands perspectives for both parties about important children's health issues. Participants are paired with a physician from a variety of patient care areas and accompany their staff member throughout the morning. From 2016 through 2019, working in close collaboration with our lead medical staff, I coordinated all aspects of this event. This included securing community participants and hospital staff and scheduling the day's activities.
Community Leadership Council
The Mahoning Valley Community Leadership Council is comprised of committed donors who provide strategic insight to the foundation and advocate for the hospital within the community to enlist support and establish and maintain a culture of philanthropy for the hospital in the Mahoning Valley. I am responsible for planning and executing the quarterly meetings, including working with our featured clinical speaker and coordinating venue details. In 2020, we held these meetings virtually and continue to offer a virtual option to our members. With the assistance of my colleagues, I coordinate the necessary technology to offer this virtual option.
